So, you’re not ready to go full on vegan yet? Can’t resist the burger staring at you from the grill? Fine (well, not “fine”- but we can discuss that later). If you’ve been looking for a way to shift your actions in a more animal friendly direction, you can start even before you cut the animal products from your diet (or you can ADD this to your already veg life if you want to be extra compassionate and effective).
Every year in the US, an estimated 70-100 million animals are tortured, blinded, scalded, force-fed chemicals, and killed in testing facilities. A disgusting proportion of these tests occur to approve products that exist solely for human vanity (cosmetics, lotions, etc).
(do you really want your money funding these people’s salaries?)
Lucky for these lonely, suffering, and forgotten animals, YOU can easily stop paying for this to happen! And you’ll almost certainly SAVE money in the process. Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods both produce their own toiletries, complete with a label that promises no animal testing and no animal ingredients.
Look for ^ these at Trader Joe’s- I believe you can find them for $1.99…
…and for anything like ^ these at Whole Foods. $3.99 each.
The prices are ideal, the availability is widespread, and- if you’re concerned about their safety since no lab animals were exposed to them- no need to fear, they’ve already successfully been tested on me (and they passed)!
PS- Check out the cosmetics section at Whole Foods too. I’m obsessed. So easy, so cruelty-free.
PPS- Wondering if your current favorite cosmetics/toiletry company tests on animals? Look them up in this database!
animal testing is fucking disgusting. i’m sorry, it’s WRONG.
The fact that that this stuff goes...is horrific. The fact
buy cruelty-free products. I always check
